6 Rare Brown Triangle Petrified Wood Somdej Toh Amulets – WLK Collection

We have just six (5 left) of these very rare and collectible Somdej Toh Buddha pendants in a triangle shape. We have already sold a couple dozen of them over the years. Petrified wood (ไม้กลายเป็นหิน), is of course, millions of years old from Wat Lahn Kuat in Northeast Thailand.

The story of how we came to find them was we were just driving around Isan in some very out of the way areas and saw this temple on the map and decided to go have a look. We are always looking for new amulets and we really hit gold at Wat Lahn Kuat temple in Sisaket. They had recently finished handcarving some white jade Somdej Toh amulets and then they found some petrified wood – black and brown – on their property. They commissioned craftsmen to work under the watchful eyes of monks to create these amazing amulets.

This is part of the “WLK Amulet Collection” which includes premium brown and black petrified wood and white jade pendants like you will not find anywhere else in Thailand or the world.

Some of the pendants have, on the reverse side, an inscription that reads the name of the temple – Wat Lahn Kuat, and the year the pendant batch was made. Some of these were made in the Buddhist year 2547, and others in 2548. This corresponds to the Christian year (A.D.) – 2004, or 2005.
